rt46324 is written.

It passes build on 64-bit Fedora (it doesn't use -latomic on it).

(If I force -latomic, it fails build so it seems it's better to not use
-latomic on 64-bit platforms. The branch doesn't use -latomic on 64-bit
platforms.)

I haven't yet tried it on 32-bit platforms.. I've asked Stephen to try
it on the machine he had a problem on, and I'll also try it o a 32-bit
platform once I set a VM).
