This is a ticket to prepare a branch for making an NSIS installer for Windows. Mukund
I'm curious whether there's any further progress on this?
I suggest we take this off the review queue until the remaining work is done.

I put it into the queue because I want a review of what's done so far. I don't want to implement the configure x.in -> x changes until it is reviewed as something we can use in its current form. Well, I read the code, and it looked reasonable, but I don't know the language it's written in, so there could easily be subtleties that I would've missed. I haven't tried a test install, but I assume you have... and I would definitely like a more up-to-date installer. Based on that, I think it's a good idea and well worth pursuing further.
I set this up as merge request 75 in gitlab; closing it here.
