Underscore is not a valid character in a hostname. See RFC 952 and
RFC 1123 which combined define what is legal in a hostname.
Note: SRV, TLSA etc. use underscore in the prefix labels because
it is *not* a valid hostname character. This is done so that the
labels used with these records cannot clash with valid hostnames.
